Teens on Purpose

Teens today have many important decisions to make and they're having to make them at a younger and younger age. Not an easy task when you're surrounded by lots of social and academic stress!

The goal of the Personalized Leadership & Individual Development (PLAID) Program for 8th & 9th grade girls is to relieve some of this pressure and create a space for teens to actively shape and decide who they want to be instead of merely by-standing the process or reacting to the experiences

around them.

Our program helps young teens plan and prepare for their future - personally, academically, socially, even professionally.

Program Components

A Roadmap

Uncover a personal roadmap to get clear on your strengths, values, who you are at your core, what motivates you and then how to stay true to all of these things moving forward!

Personalized Skills

Develop important skills around communication, relationship-building, decision-making, health and wellness, time management, financial literacy and more.

A Passion Project

Leadership of self means we all have the ability to make a positive impact. Set and work toward a passion-driven goal for the duration of the program while also inspiring others. Then, reflect on all of the lessons learned. You might even find some "college essay material"!

Support & Feedback

Enjoy input from a group of supportive, like-minded peers, and receive expert one-on-one coaching from the actual creator of the PLAID program!

Thinking about what I want to do or where I want to be in 4 years is a lot for a 14-year old. I'm excited to start organizing my thoughts by participating in PLAID!

At school, most of the planning is related to grades, testing and college. It will be nice to consider ALL of my goals and dreams, not just the academic ones.
